The destination of the snowshoe hike is selected according to ice conditions: either across the frozen lake to Sarvikallio or to the Tuomalansuo bog for a nature excursion.
Located on the shore of Lake Tuusula, Sarvikallio was once nicknamed “Little Koli” by the artist Eero Järnefelt. Join our guides on a snowshoe adventure to conquer this scenic “Little Koli.” If the ice conditions are not suitable, the hike can instead begin from the Sarvikallio parking area.
Alternatively, the excursion can take place at Tuomalansuo. In winter, the frozen bog allows access to areas that are difficult to reach during the summer months. You may discover frozen cranberries beneath the snow, while sunlight filters beautifully through the slender trees. The bog has a unique sense of peace and tranquility.
The pace of the hike is tailored to the wishes and abilities of each group.
What to bring:
Warm outdoor clothing suitable for the weather. High-ankle boots, hat and gloves.
Duration:
1-2 hours, depending on the starting point. Shorter 1 hour hikes are possible from Onnela to Sarvikallio.
